75 jobs announced at two firms in Cork

A Cork manufacturing plant that makes air cooling systems has announced the creation of 50 jobs.

Edpac International is recruiting the staff for its newly extended plan in Carrigaline.

The Irish-owned company has said it is expanding to meet sustained growth over the last three years.

It operates two sites in Cork, with another one in Newmarket in the north of the county.

The firm employs 80 people currently. 50 more are to be recruited over the next two years.

In a statement, the firm said in particular they were looking for design engineers, refrigeration technicians, plumbers, electricians as well as quality engineers and logistics personnel.

Managing Director Noel Lynch said: "The opening of the extended manufacturing site will undoubtedly enhance productivity and how we work as a team, and I want to acknowledge that it is the people behind EDPAC International that make it a great place to work and a great company. 

"We have a number of exciting international and national projects in the pipeline, and look forward to continuing to grow and develop from our Cork sites in Carrigaline and Newmarket," he added.

Meanwhile, recruiting and consulting firm Oxford Global Resources is to recruit 25 staff for its Irish operations in Cork.

The firm, which currently employs 129 people here, made the announcement as part of a celebration of 25 years of its European Headquarters being located at Penrose Quay in Cork.

The US-based firm focuses on recruitment in the IT, life sciences, and engineering sectors.

It employs more than 850 people across 25 offices globally.
