Strencom, the Irish managed connectivity and cloud computing provider, has signed new cloud and connectivity deals totalling €2m with 140 credit union branches across the country.
The deals will see Strencom host the credit unions' financial data and connect credit unions with multiple branches.
Tipperary Credit Union, Drogheda Credit Union, Croí Laighean Credit Union, Mullingar Credit Union, Tower Credit Union, Ballygall Credit Union, Member First Credit Union, First Choice Credit Union, Thurles Credit Union, Health Services Staffs Credit Union and Mallow Credit Union are some of the credit unions involved in the deal.
Strencom's connectivity and cloud hosting platform is specifically designed for financial services and it said it will provide secure, fast and reliable service to credit unions with assets of over of €8 billion.
The company will host credit unions' sensitive financial and personal data in its primary Irish-based data centre, as well as being backed up in a secondary Irish-based data centre.
Strencom also said the deals will support the current wave of merger and acquisition activity in the credit union sector.
