UK annual inflation slowed in November, partly due to falling motor fuel prices, official data showed today.
The UK's consumer price index rose by 2.3%, its slowest increase since the start of 2017, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in a statement.
That was in line with market expectations and compared with 2.4% in October.
"The largest downward contributions came from falls in petrol prices and across a variety of recreational and cultural goods and services, principally games, toys and hobbies, and cultural services," the ONS said in a statement.
Petrol prices dipped due to the falling cost of crude oil on world markets.
