AIB has announced that it is proposing Dr Colin Hunt to be appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the bank.
In a statement, AIB said that an assessment process is under way ahead of the official appointment of the new CEO-designate.
Mr Hunt, who previously worked in Macquarie Capital, Goodbody Stockbrokers, Bank of Ireland and NatWest, joined AIB Group in 2016 as MD of Wholesale and Institutional Banking.
He was also a special advisor to former ministers for finance and transport.
