Office-sharing company WeWork is to take eight floors of the old Central Bank building on Dublin's Dame Street.
The company, which leases flexible office space to individuals and businesses, has been announced as the anchor tenant of the new Central Plaza development. Its offices there are due to open in late 2019.
WeWork already operates in 74 cities around the world.
Last week it opened its first Dublin location on Harcourt Road, while it is also due to take space in the Dublin Docklands development Dublin Landings.
Today's news from WeWork comes just a week after the decision to approve planning permission by An Bord Pleanála for the redevelopment of the former Central Bank building.
When finished Central Plaza will include retail, restaurants and cafés at street and basement level.
The existing plaza will also be expanded to create a new streetscape towards College Green and along Fownes Street and Cope Street. This will create a link between the key retail and tourist destinations of Grafton Street, College Green, and Temple Bar, international real estate firm Hines said.
Central Plaza will accommodate over 1,300 professional workers and create over 300 new full and part-time retail and hospitality jobs across the five existing buildings that make up the development.
Brian Moran, senior managing director of Hines, said that with planning permission just granted, and leasing of the building's office component now almost fully complete, this is yet another very positive step for this unique project.
WeWork's Patrick Nelson said that expanding its Dublin portfolio with a location like Central Plaza really proves the company's commitment and dedication to the city.
"We look forward to welcoming new companies to this iconic location, adding to our already flourishing ecosystem of members, who will no doubt benefit greatly from the nearby amenities, locality and transport," he added.
