SSE Airtricity has announced an increase in its standard household energy prices from next month.
A typical household dual fuel bill will increase by an average of 8.9%, or €2.70 per week.
For single fuel customers, the standard price of electricity will rise by 6.4%, or €1.13 a week; the standard price of gas will increase by 12.3%, or €1.57 per week.
SSE Airtricity said the rise will take effect from 14 July and is in response to sustained increases in wholesale energy costs on global markets.
