Eir is reporting service interruptions and damage to its pole, cabe and mast infrastructure as a result of snow and high winds during Storm Emma.
The telecommunications company said there are an estimated 10,000 customers currently without telephone, broadband and mobile services.
County Limerick is the worst hit with 7,000 customers without service in Hospital, Pallasgreen, Murroe, Croom and Kilfinane.
Eir said access is an issue and repair work will take time due to the overhead network which follows the road network.
The company is advising the general public to contact them at 1850 245 424 if the damaged infrastructure is causing a safety risk.
