An Post has moved to reassure customers that their pension and social welfare payments are safe, and will be available for collection as soon as the weather passes.
Anna McHugh, Head of Communications with An Post, said some customers received part payments, due to a lack of funds at some post offices, and they will get the balance next week.
She thanked those customers for their goodwill.
Post Offices will re-open on Saturday, and offices that do not normally open on Saturdays will open this weekend depending on local conditions.
Ms McHugh said, "We’re normally the last man and woman standing in terms of financial services and deliveries, and we hope to be back to normal as soon as possible."
Postal deliveries over the weekend, remain under review.
