New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the average annual pay of an employee in the aircraft leasing industry stood at €165,000 in 2016.
This is up from an average pay rate of €104,000 in 2007.
The CSO said that employment in the sector has increased at a rate of 16% year-on-year while average pay has increased by 22% a year between 2007 and 2016.
Irish aircraft leasing companies include AerCap, GECAS, Avolon, SMBC, AWAS and Orix Aviation.
According to the CSO, aircraft leasing companies earned most of their income through the operational leasing of aircraft - their main activity.
This activity generated over €66 billion for the industry for the total period, rising 188% from €4.4 billion in 2007 to €12.7 billion in 2016.

But tax paid by companies in the industry has been somewhat "volatile" over the decade, the CSO noted.
Tax as a percentage of profits has followed a downward trend since 2007.
More than €1.6 billion has been paid during the period, with over 98% of this paid in Ireland.
An average of €164m a year was paid, with €232m the most paid in a single year - in 2014, the CSO added.
