Spain's gross domestic product expanded by 0.7% in the three months from October to December on a quarterly basis, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute.
That was in line with economists' forecasts, and down slightly from 0.8% registered in the third quarter.
On an annual basis the economy grew by 3.1%, unchanged from a quarter earlier and just below economists' expectations which saw annual growth of 3.2% in a Reuters poll.
In 2017, the preliminary data showed the economy grew by 3.1% from a year earlier, down from 3.3% in 2016.
