Beckman Coulter has announced an expansion of its Co Clare plant which will see the creation of 70 new jobs over the next two to three years.
Beckman Coulter develops, manufactures and markets products that simplify and automate complex biomedical testing.
The expansion at Lismeehan in Co Clare is supported by IDA Ireland.
The company already employs 330 people in Lismeehan and the site is the company's global diagnostics business.
Recruitment for the new positions, which include scientists, engineering quality, manufacturing and other support functions, will begin immediately.
Piers Devereux, VP of Operations for Beckman Coulter, said the calibre of the local workforce and the excellent support the company receives from the community really sets the Co Clare site apart.
"Our Ireland presence is essential for Beckman Coulter to achieve our vision of advancing healthcare for every person," he added.
IDA Ireland's chief executive Martin Shanahan said that supporting established companies to grow and add jobs is a key focus for the agency.
"This expansion, adding significant additional capacity to the Lismeehan site, will be of great benefit to County Clare and the Mid West Region," he added.
