The Dublin born chief executive of Qantas, Alan Joyce, has topped the Financial Times 'OUTstanding lists', which ranks leading global LGBT Leaders and Allies.

Sodexo's Margot Slattery, Wendy Murphy of LinkedIn, IDA Ireland's chief executive Martin Shanahan and Anne Sheehan, Enterprise Director at Vodafone Ireland, are also included on the list this year.

The list celebrates those LGBT executives and allies who are not only successful in their careers but who are also creating supportive workplaces for other LGBT people.

People working in the financial services industry feature most heavily in the list, followed by the technology and professional services.

The likes of Facebook's chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, Lloyds of London's chief executive Inga Beale and Stephen Clarke, the CEO of WH Smith also feature on the lists.
