Wexford-based IT support firm Datapac says it will hire 35 staff over the next 18 months as part of a €2.1m investment.

The new roles, which will be based at the company's Enniscorthy Network Operation Centre, will be primarily in technical and business development.

Datapac specialises in providing tech support and managing information and communications technology for businesses including data storage, back-up, security, and other services.

The planned investment will also see significant expansion and enhancement of ICT managed services at the Network Operations Centre.

This will include new remote monitoring and management platforms, as well as automated technologies and enhanced training programmes for its growing team of more than 60 technical engineers.

The firm's General Manager of Service Delivery Karen O’Connor said the investment "enables Datapac to continue to enhance our service offering to existing customers and to respond to the increased demand for our managed service solutions.

"Datapac has a scalable managed service platform in place which will help us to achive further business growth."
