Industrial manufacturing production in April rose by 7.9% in comparison to the previous month.
The most recent data from the Central Statistics Office revealed that year-to-year production was 1.1% lower than in April 2016.
Figures showing the seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the months February 2017 to April 2017 decreased by 11.2% compared to the preceding three month period.
In the "modern" sector, the data showed a 12.9% monthly increase in production for April and a 2.6% annual increase.

The "modern" classification includes chemicals and pharmaceuticals; computer, electronic, optical and electrical equipment; medical and dental instruments and supplies; and the reproduction of recorded media.
Meanwhile in the "traditional" sector, CSO data shows a 3.6% monthly decrease of production and an annual decrease of 3.1%.
Additionally, the seasonally adjusted turnover index for manufacturing industries increased by 3.6% in April 2017 compared to March 2017, while the annual turnover decreased by 3.3%.
