Ireland's largest coffee chain, Insomnia, has unveiled a slate of new store openings this year, covering Ireland, the UK, and for the first time Germany.

Openings for 2017 include Drumcondra, Cavan, Mallow, Belfast, Mary Street, while later in the year Insomnia will open its first German store.

Meanwhile, the chain’s flagship St Stephen’s Green store has also reopened for the first time since April.

Insomnia has 140 stores across the UK and Ireland, with the latest expansion bringing that number to 175 by the end of the year.

Commenting on the expansion, Insomnia Chairperson Bobby Kerr said: "We are 20 years in business this year and I always think brands are constantly evolving, it’s really more an evolution of where we are, continuing to deliver the quality message backed up with great service and quality products."
