Manufacturing industrial production fell by 4.2% between September and October, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.
The data also show that annually production in the sector in October was 7% down on the same month last year.
The modern sector showed a monthly decrease in production of 1.9% for October and an annual decrease of 7.8% compared, while there was a monthly decrease of 5% in the traditional sector for the month and a yearly drop of 2.3%.
Meanwhile, according to the CSO turnover increased by 3% for manufacturing industries in October when compared with September, while annually turnover fell by 2% when compared with October 2015.
