Golden Discs is to supply music, movies and games to 80 Tesco Ireland stores under a new arrangement with the retailer.
The three-year deal will see Golden Discs concessions open in 80 of the 148 Tesco stores in Ireland from today.
Golden Discs’ presence in Tesco will be via branded aisles where the entertainment products will be available.
The deal brings to 94 the number of Golden Discs locations nationwide.
Golden Discs CEO Stephen Fitzgerald described the partnership as “an exciting new chapter” for the company.
Established in 1962, Golden Discs currently operates fourteen stores around Ireland and employs over 150 people.
The chain entered into examinership in 2009 with debts of around €12m after a court petition from its largest creditor Sony, however, the business returned to profit in 2013.
