Ryanair says it plans to hire over 3,000 new staff over the next year as the airline takes delivery of 50 new aircraft.

2,000 new cabin crew, 1,000 pilots and 250 aircraft engineers will be recruited, while over 300 First Officers will be promoted across the airline's 84 European bases.

Ryanair is also creating a number of IT, Sales & Marketing, Digital Experience, as well as Finance and Commercial roles at Ryanair's Dublin office, and at its Travel Labs Poland subsidiary in Wroclaw.

The airline has not provided a specific geographical breakdown of any of the new roles.

Commenting on the announcement, Ryanair's Chief People Officer Eddie Wilson said: "As our aircraft numbers grow from 355 to over 500 in the next five years, Ryanair will hire over 5,000 new people."
