Primark has continuing its expansion in the Northeastern US with the opening of two more stores.

The UK fashion retailer, which trades as Penney’s in Ireland, has opened its second store in Pennsylvania, at Willow Grove Park Mall, while last week it opened its first store in New Jersey, at the Freehold Raceway Mall.

This brings the total number of Primark stores in the US to five, since the opening of its first store in Boston in September last year.

The store in Willow Grove Park Mall totals 58,600 sq ft of retail space across two floors, and has 58 fitting rooms and 48 registers.

The Freehold Raceway Mall store in New Jersey encompasses 50,600 sq ft of retail space with 65 fitting rooms and 47 registers.

Commenting on the store openings, Chief Executive of Primark Paul Marchant said: “These openings mark another important milestone in raising awareness of Primark’s unique formula of Amazing Fashion, Amazing Prices.”

The store openings will create over 500 jobs in their respective areas: 230 jobs in Willow Grove Park Mall and 290 jobs at Freehold Raceway Mall.

Primark has announced plans to launch in another five locations along the US east coast.
