IAG has said it is adding two Airbus 330-300 aircraft to the Aer Lingus fleet next year to boost the expansion of the airline’s transatlantic network.
IAG – which owns Aer Lingus as well as a number of other carriers including BA and Iberia – said the modern fuel-efficient aircraft will bring cost efficiencies and environmental benefits to the airline.
The A330 options, which have now been converted to firm orders, were first announced in September 2014.
The A330-300 list price is around €186m, however, IAG said it negotiated a “substantial discount” on this.
