Discount grocery retailer Aldi has opened two new stores – in Bandon, Co Cork and Mullingar, Co Westmeath – creating 29 jobs.
Bandon marks Aldi’s 20th store in Co Cork, while the new Mullingar store is Aldi’s third in Westmeath.
The new openings bring the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 126.
In addition to new store openings, Aldi says it is strengthening its relationship with Irish food producers.
In the last five years the retailer says it has recruited over 70 Irish suppliers, meaning Aldi now partners with more than 175 Irish producers.
It added that over half of its supplier spend is now with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers.
