Cork drinks firm Nohoval has secured a five year contract to supply its craft cider brand to the French market.

Finnbarra cider - known as Stonewell Cider in Ireland - will be distributed by Carlsberg's House of Beer subsidiary into the French market, with Irish-themed bars being the first target for the label.

Nohoval said the deal would provide a significant boost to its business, with orders for first three years of the arrangement set to match its entire output for 2015.

The company was established in 2010 by husband and wife team Daniel and Geraldine Emerson and produces a range of cider and apple-based craft drinks.

Daniel Emerson said that the deal is a landmark one for the company on several levels.

"A large five year contract for a six year old company allows us to plan our business with greater confidence. That this contract is for a market of 63 million people and with a subsidiary of Carlsberg is a significant endorsement of both our business and our cider," Mr Emerson added.
