Clinical research firm Icon has reported a jump in income during the first quarter, as revenue rose despite the impact of adverse currency movements.
During the first three months of the year Icon had net revenue of $400.5m, up 3.2% on the same period of 2015.
Net income, meanwhile, rose by 12.7% to $63m as the company expanded its margin and grew its backlog of business.
Icon offers outsourced clinical development services to companies across the world, covering pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotechnical industries.
It employs more than 12,000 people in 37 different countries, including more than 1,000 staff at its Dublin headquarters and Limerick offices.
