The Central Bank has appointed Ed Sibley as Director of Credit Institutions Supervision following an open competition.
Mr Sibley is currently the head of the supervisory section of Banking Supervision at the institution.
Prior to joining the Central Bank, he worked in European Banks Supervision in the Financial Services Authority in the UK.
He has also held a number of roles in Bank of Ireland and PwC.
Mr Sibley holds an MBA from Smurfit Business School as well as a BA in Economics.
Announcing the appointment, Deputy Governor Cyril Roux said Mr Sibley “will lead the Credit Institutions Supervision Directorate, oversee the prudential supervision of credit institutions and support the Registrar of Credit Unions in her role.
“Ed brings considerable experience and knowledge to this role,” he added.
