Ryanair has reported a 28% increase in passenger numbers for March.

The airline said its passenger numbers rose to 8.5 million last month compared to 6.6 million the same time last year.

It also said its load factor - or how many seats it fills on each flight - increased to 94% from 90% in March of last year.

Ryanair said the record monthly numbers were seen despite three days of French ATC strikes in March which caused the cancellation of over 500 flights.
