The seasonally adjusted monthly services value index rose by 2.2% between January and February, while there was an annual increase in the index in February of 8.2%.
The figures from the Central Statistics Office show that on a monthly basis, Information and Communication (+7.2%), Accommodation and Food Service Activities (+2.4%), Transportation and Storage (+2.4%) and Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities (+1.4%) all increased between January and February.
Meanwhile, Wholesale and Retail Trade (-0.8%), and Administrative and Support Service Activities (-0.4%) decreased in the month to February.
There was no monthly change in the value of Other Service Activities.
Annually, Information and Communication (+27.7%) and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (+20.3%), Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities (+8.6%) and Wholesale and Retail Trade (+4.1%) increased when compared with February 2015.
Other Service Activities (-13.9%), Transportation and Storage (-10.6%) and Administrative and Support Service Activities (-3.2%) decreased in the year to February.
