The final report of the banking inquiry has been signed off and agreed.

Around 80 individuals and institutions were sent copies of the report and were entitled  to respond to sections relating to them.

These included former taoiseach Brian Cowen, former Anglo Irish Bank chief David Drumm as well as the Central Bank and the Department of Finance.

It is understood 33 submissions were received.

In a statement, Committee chairman Ciaran Lynch said the final report contains three volumes.

The report is due to be published next month.
