The number of overseas visitors to Ireland between September and November rose by 354,000 (19.2%) to over 2.2m, when compared with the same period last year.
According to the data from the Central Statistics Office trips by residents of Great Britain increased by 16.1% to 901,900, while the number of trips by residents of other European countries was up by 24.4% to 768,300 for the period.
393,500 North American residents visited Ireland from September to November – an increase of 14.7% on 2014.
Trips to Ireland from ‘Other Areas’ increased by 25.4% to 137,400 for the period.
Meanwhile, for the year to the end of November the total number of trips to Ireland was 14.0% higher than for the first 11 months of 2014.
