The volume of manufacturing output rose in October, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.
Production for the country's manufacturing industries was almost 4% higher than in September, with turnover also up significantly in the month.
On an annual basis, production has increased by more than 18%, while turnover has risen by around 17%.
Today's figures show that most of the growth is coming from the modern sector, which includes computer and chemical production. That was up more than 3% in the month and almost 25% year on year.
Meanwhile, there was a monthly decrease of 0.5% in the traditional sector for October and an annual increase of 4.4% compared with the same time last year.
