An outsourcing project undertaken by Bank of Ireland included the awarding a number of key management roles to consultants in addition to 200 staff roles.
Last year it emerged the bank was outsourcing its Group Technology and Change division to global technology consultancy group Accenture.
It has now emerged Bank of Ireland has also outsourced the management of operations to the consultants.
As a result a series of senior roles at the bank are now filled by Accenture consultants instead of Bank of Ireland staff.
Among the roles held by Accenture personnel is the head of the bank’s Group Technology and Change, who reports to the group executive.
Other management roles that have been outsourced include Infrastructure Service & Operations and Head of Service Management/Vendors.
A spokesman for the bank said: “In 2014 following a review of the Bank of Ireland Group’s IT and business change requirements Bank of Ireland contracted Accenture to provide IT services to the Bank.
He added: “However, the Bank does not comment on commercial arrangements with third party suppliers or on internal staffing matters.”
Bank of Ireland is 14% State-owned.
