Paper and packaging group Smurfit Kappa has announced a new management structure for its European operations led by Roberto Villaquiran.

From tomorrow, Roberto Villaquiran, who is currently CEO Corrugated Europe, will assume the new role of CEO Europe with overall responsibility for the existing European paper and corrugated divisions. 

He will report directly to the group chief executive Tony Smurfit.

Two new chief operations officers have also been appointed for the European operations. Laurent Sellier has been appointed to the new role of COO, Paper Europe; and Saverio Mayer is the new COO, Corrugated Europe.
 

Tony Smurfit said he expects the company's new European structure to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and development of the business. 

Smurfit Kappa has about 43,000 workers in 33 countries around the world. It reported revenues of €8.1 billion in 2014.
