Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis is among the first names announced for Kilkenomics which takes place in Kilkenny in November.

The festival, now in its sixth year, brings together some of the world's leading economists, financial analysts and media commentators with standup comedians.

Other contributors coming to Kilkenny for the five day event include the Financial Times' chief economic commentator Martin Wolf, Black Swan author Nassim Taleb and Ogilvy UK's advertising creative director, Rory Sutherland.

The festival runs from November 5 to November 8.
