Growth in the Irish manufacturing sector continued in July with business conditions strengthening and production picking up.
Consumer goods performed particularly well in the month with euro weakness boosting exports to the US and UK markets.
Firms are confident that the sector will continue to perform well throughout the remainder of the quarter.
Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturing activity shrank more than intially thought in July according to a private survey of activity.
It's added fuel to speculation that the Chinese economy is slowing faster than many thought was the case.
