There were 45 merger and acquisitions deals in Ireland during the first half of the year, according to corporate lawyers William Fry.
The deals were worth a collective €35 billion, however one large deal accounted for the bulk of that figure.
That was the acquisition of Ireland-based generic drugs maker Perrigo, which was bought by British-based Mylan for €32.6 billion.
Amongst the better-known deals listed in the first half of the year was IAG’s takeover of Aer Lingus, which has not been completed yet but is due to close in the coming weeks.
