Food company Greencore has recorded revenue of £346.5m in the 13 weeks to 26 June, an increase of 6.2% on the year before.

In an Interim Management Statement this morning the firm says its convenience foods division recorded revenue of £331.9m, 6.9% higher than the year before.

In Britain, like-for-like revenue was 4% higher, while in the US revenue was up 22.1%.

Greencore provides a range of products including pre-packed sandwiches, microwave meals and sauces including items under the Weight Watchers brand.

The company’s British food-to-go business - which includes sandwiches, sushi and wraps - continued to experience good growth led by the addition of new product lines in its Northampton facility.

In the US the company said its business remains focused on the delivery of major capacity related initiatives with a new facility in Quonset, Rhode Island, starting production in April.

Greencore said the core British grocery retail market remains challenging, however the company was confident it could deliver growth in the financial year despite this.
