Denis O'Brien's Digicel Group, which provides communications services in the Caribbean and South Pacific regions, has announced it will list on the New York Stock Exchange.
JP Morgan, UBS Investment Bank and Citigroup were among the underwriters for the IPO, the company told the US Securities and Exchange Commission in a preliminary prospectus.
Digicel provides mobile communications services to 13.6 million subscribers in 31 markets.
The filing with the SEC did not reveal how many shares the company planned to sell or their expected price.
The company said it intends to use the net proceeds of the IPO for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and acquisitions, and to repay existing debts.
Denis O'Brien owns Communicorp, which operates a number of radio stations here including Today FM, Newstalk and 98FM. He is also a major shareholder in Independent News & Media.
