The maker of Jameson whiskey is to create 30 new jobs as part of a €17m expansion of its bottling facility in Clondalkin, Co Dublin.
Irish Distillers said the investment in its Fox and Geese facility would increase its bottling capacity by 2.5 million 9 litre cases to 7.5 million by 2017 – which would see 120 million bottles going through the site each year.
The company – which is owned by French spirits firm Pernod Ricard – has had operations at the site for 50 years, where Paddy and Powers whiskey are also bottled.
Today’s announcement is in addition to a €200m investment programme which started in 2012, involving the expansion of its Midleton distillery and Dungourney maturation facility in Cork.
Irish Distillers is hoping to take advantage of increased interest in Irish whiskey internationally, with sales to the United States and other countries seeing strong growth in recent years.
