Ryanair has reported a 16% increase in passenger numbers for May.
The airline said it carried a total of 9.5 million passengers last month, up from 8.2 million the same time last year.
Its load factor - or how many seats on each flight - also rose last month from 85% to 92%.
Ryanair attributed the rising numbers to the continuing success of its 'Always Getting Better' improvement programme.
The airline said the programme continues to deliver better than expected load factors on its expanded summer schedule.
Last week, Ryanair forecast a 10% rise in profit and passenger numbers in its current financial year.
