Entertainment retailer Golden Discs said it made a small profit in the year to June 2014, while the group’s revenue grew significantly.
Golden Disc Group said its turnover rose 43% to €12m in the twelve months to June of last year, driven by the opening of six new stores.
However one-off costs associated with those store openings ate into its profit, which stood at €30,885 during the period.
The company said sales of DVDs were flat during the year to June, though sales in audio products rose – particularly vinyl.
Golden Discs has 15 outlets across the country, with shops in Cork, Kildare and Dublin added during its latest financial year.
It said it also planned to upgrade its website in the coming months to allow customers to purchase products online.
