Manufacturers grew production by 2.8% in March when compared to the previous month, according to the Central Statistics Office, as high-tech and chemical sectors expanded significantly during the month.
The 'modern' segment of manufacturing industries grew by 7.9% during the month when compared to February, more than countering a 2.7% decrease in 'traditional' sectors.
Year-on-year production for manufacturing industries was up 45.5% in March - with both modern and traditional sectors growing over the twelve months.
There was also an 11.5% increase in the seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index during the month - which measures the change in the level of sales of industrial products.
On an annual basis the turnover index was up 35.1% in March.
