GameAccount Network, the gaming software firm headed by Dermot Smurfit Junior, has reported a loss and a fall in revenues for the year to the end of December.

The company said its revenue for the year fell to £7.5m from £12.3m in 2013. It also posted a pre-tax loss of £2.6m compared to a pre-tax profit of £1.6m the previous year.

During the year, the company signed three new US casino clients and also launched Simulated Gaming in the US. It also delivered an internet gaming platform for Betfair in New Jersey and launched new iSight Back Office in the US and Europe.

GameAccount's CEO Dermot Smurfit said that 2014 continued to be a period of investment for the company, and its performance so far this year is in line with expectations.

"Following a transformational year in 2013, GameAccount has continued to position its business to capture growth in online gaming markets, particularly in the US. 2014 saw the launch of key products across our offering, in particular Simulated Gaming, together with a number of significant commercial and strategic developments," Mr Smurfit said.

The CEO said the company remains confident in its ability to continue to deliver on sales of its gaming system to casino equipment manufacturers although the timing of such sales remains uncertain.
