Renewables group Gaelectric has acquired interests in two wind energy projects in Kilkenny and Tipperary.
It has taken over the Ballybay Wind Farm in Kilkenny, which is made up of six wind turbines generating 13.8MW of energy.
The company has also taken a 50% interest in Cnoc Wind Farm at Grange, Co Tipperary; which has five turbines generating 11.5MW of power.
Gaelectric says it hopes its wind energy infrastructure will be generating 320MW of power by 2017, with almost half of that already in operation.
