British airline Flybe is to suspend its flights between Southend Airport in Essex and Dublin from next month.

The airline's chief commercial officer, Paul Simmons, said: "As part of a recent review, we have taken the decision to suspend this route with effect from April 13 as passenger numbers regretfully continue to remain below those projected.

"Passengers who have booked to fly on this route are being contacted and offered an alternative flight or a full refund."
