Green REIT has become the first Irish REIT to be included in the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index Series.
The index is designed to represent general trends in eligible property equities worldwide and is the most widely used global benchmark for listed property.
The company will start its listing on the index on March 23.
"We are very pleased to be the first Irish REIT to be added to the EPRA Index, and to continue the longstanding association with EPRA which began with Green Property many years ago," commented Stephen Vernon, Green Property REIT Ventures' chairman.
A REIT is a company that owns and manages property on behalf of shareholders. It can contain commercial and/or residential property but excludes the letting of owner-occupied buildings.
REITs provide a way for investors to access the risks and rewards of holding property assets without having to buy property directly.
