Computer company Microsoft has announced an investment of €134m in a campus in Dubin.

150 jobs will be generated during construction of the facility at the South County Business Park in Leopardstown.

The campus will bring Microsoft's 1,200 strong workforce all together under one roof for the first time in the company's recent history in Ireland.

Microsoft said the campus investment is the latest in a series of large infrastructural commitments that Microsoft has made in Ireland over its 30 year history here.

The total amount invested by the company to date is about €1 billion, a figure that includes significant data centre investments in west Dublin.

Cathriona Hallahan Microsoft Ireland's managing director said that the company has grown from 100 people in 1985 to over 1,200 today.

"Dublin is now home to a number of European and global teams and groups as well as to the first Data Centre located outside the US - a facility that has grown rapidly over the past five years," Ms Hallahan added.

She said the €134m investment in a "modern home" for the company's workforce underpins its long term commitment to Ireland.
