Chinese manufacturer Huawei has become the latest manufacturer to enter the smart watch market.

Ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the company revealed the rumoured device, which like Apple's first wearable computer is to also be called Watch.

Huawei's Watch has a 42mm round face which the company says is compact enough to suit women's slighter arms, although it is still quite chunky compared to traditional watches worn by women.

The device has a stainless steel unibody and the 1.4 inch screen is covered with Sapphire glass. Watch runs on Android Wear and Huawei claims it is the highest resolution smartwatch using the operating system.

It can take interchangeable straps and has 40 customisable faces. The device can carry call notifications and can be used to pick up calls, as well as email and other messages.

It also has a barometric sensor  and a heart rate monitor for fitness tracking. Watch will be available in the middle of this year, Huawei says.

The company also unveiled an update to its Talkband fitness tracker, the Talkband B2, and a new tracking device called Talkband N1.

This is worn around the neck and as well as monitoring steps and calories has a built in headphone and 4GB of storage for music playback.
