Fresh produce company Total Produce has bought a 50% shareholding in the Gambles Group, the fresh produce company based in Toronto in Canada.
Gambles was founded in 1989 by Tom Hughes and Wayne Giles and the business is now one of Eastern Canada's premier produce companies with sales of $170m last year and over 280 staff.
Total Produce said this was its fourth investment in North America.
"This transaction further broadens our North American operations. We look forward to working with the excellent people in Gambles over the coming years," commented Total Produce chairman Carl McCann.
