There were more than 1.1m equity trades on the ISEQ in the last three months of 2014, according to the Irish Stock Exchange.
It brought the annual total to 4.5m trades – up 30% on figures for 2013.
The total value of last year’s trades was €63.5bn – up 10% year-on-year – with €14bn of that being generated in the fourth quarter.
ISE also said that more than €300m was raised by listed companies in the last three months of 2014, bringing the year’s total to €1.3bn.
The exchange also saw growth in the number of debt tranches listed during the quarter – up 15% on the same period of 2013 – with more than 32,000 securities now listed on the ISE.
The ISEQ Index rose by 7.2% in the last three months of 2014, bringing the year’s total gain to 15.1%, it said.
