Amax is establishing its European manufacturing facility at Shannon in Co Clare, which it says will bring 100 jobs to the area over the next five years.

Based in California but with an extensive network of facilities in China, Amax is a leading manufacturer of dynamic data centre and cloud custom-server appliance and computing solutions.

The company said its base in Shannon will help it serve its European and global customer base with faster production and logistics turnaround.

The jobs will be in production, warehousing, finance and sales.

Meanwhile, Sector Alarm Corporation, the company now operating the Phonewatch alarm service, says it is creating 45 new jobs in three offices in Dublin.

The company hopes to recruit the staff through an event at Wynn's Hotel in Dublin City centre on Saturday.

Potential recruits are invited to hand in their CV at the event.

Those who are successful will be sent for training before taking up the positions.

Fforeign exchange company TransferMate has announced 25 vacancies at its Kilkenny centre.

The company is seeking to recruit business development and sales staff and is accepting CVs from today with a view to conducting interviews in the coming weeks.

And 20 new jobs will be created following the launch of Irish TV's new Munster regional hub in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The posts will be in a range of media disciplines as the channel expands its range of locally-produced programming from the six Munster counties through its new regional office.

The jobs were announced by Minister for Diaspora Affairs Jimmy Deenihan who opened the offices at the Kerry Technology Park.
