Patricia Byron has been appointed director general designate of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
Ms Byron, who is currently CEO of the Injuries Board, will take up the role in March replacing Ciara Murphy, who served as director general for seven years.
SCSI represents more than 5,000 members in the construction, property and land industries and its president Pauline Daly said Ms Byron’s expertise would help it to expand and develop in the years ahead.
Before taking up her role at the Injuries Board, Ms Byron had served as chairperson of the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland as well as president of the Insurance Institute of Dublin.
